Ear lobe repair is a relatively simple procedure that can be performed in the office with just local anesthetic. The procedure takes about 20 minutes each side and the stitches are removed after 7 days. I use a special technique to break up the line resulting in minimal scarring. By using clear stitches you can minimize visibility of the incision.

The post-operative course is relatively simple. There is minimal to no discomfort associated with the procedure. Usually Tylenol is enough to treat any discomfort you may have. In addition, the swelling associated with surgery is not too significant for the untrained eye to notice.

I advise my patients to use anti-biotic ointment on the incisions to keep them moist for optimal healing.
